There are three types of housing assistance, which cannot be combined and are granted in the following order of priority:
Personalized Housing Assistance (APL): intended for tenants of new or existing housing that is subject to an agreement between the landlord and the government setting rent adjustments, lease term, maintenance conditions, comfort standards, etc.
Family Housing Allowance (ALF): intended for individuals who are not eligible for APL and who have been married for less than 5 years or have children (born or unborn) or a dependent.
or Social Housing Allowance (ALS): intended for tenants who are not eligible for either APL or ALF.
