A rich and unique life experience: The senior offers the young person a bedroom and access to certain shared areas in their home.
This “Living Together” program provides seniors with a caring and reassuring presence. It allows young people to feel socially useful and to have access to more affordable housing.
This program may also be open to international students, provided they have sufficient proficiency in French to communicate with the senior.
Intergenerational living was born from a simple idea: a mutual exchange of
courtesy, which relies on everyone’s goodwill to succeed. The person staying with the senior is not there to replace a home health aide or caregiver. They provide a caring, friendly presence and passive supervision, and may be asked to perform small tasks: closing the shutters, sharing a meal or two a week with the senior, etc.
Process: Fill out the information form as accurately as possible. This form will be used to identify the senior who is the best match for your profile, ensuring a positive living experience for everyone. Binôme 21 has compiled a list of required documents for you.
You will then be met by a representative of the organization to review your application.
