You may give notice to your landlord at any time without providing a reason, using one of the following methods:
- Registered letter with return receipt
- Hand-delivery with a receipt or signature
- By bailiff’s writ.
You must provide 3 months’ notice.
This period is reduced to one month if you are moving out of a furnished apartment.
For their part, landlords may (in certain cases governed by law) terminate your lease on the expiration date of your lease. However, they must give you 6 months’ notice for an unfurnished apartment and 3 months’ notice for a furnished apartment.
